HOUSES

I have always been interested in architecture so creating ‘artists impressions’ for estate agents was a natural progression, before being superseded by Computer Generated Imaging! These days I prefer to work on commission, working closely with the client to create something timeless in water colour or pen and wash. If you are interested in commissioning a house portrait please email me for further information.

GARDENS

During lockdown, I spent a year charting the progress of our garden and then writing about it in a series of monthly articles. After that I didn’t want to paint or write for a while! As a keen gardener I like to try and capture the spirit of the garden in water colour without getting too precious about it – the essence and structure is what interests me.

LANDSCAPES

A country bumpkin at heart, my inspiration comes from the land. I enjoy trying to capture the light which we are so fortunate to have on this wet and windy island. Leaving out telephone poles and sky dishes is what I do for a living!

STILL LIFE

When people ask what we do in the art group and my answer is still life, they often glaze over as if to say, how can that possibly be interesting? However, I have found it to be more and more fascinating as time goes by. Here are a few examples.
